1 + 1 = 1/2

I am a car guy and subscribe to more than a half dozen weekly and monthly magazines. In looking at the variety of publications, I try to keep up with the automotive trends. I’m an old school, muscle car kind of guy and have been since I was 12 (decades ago). Every now and then, something interesting and unusual catches my eye. Check this out:

At first glance from the rear, the look of a Corvette sized two seat, 1959Chevrolet has possibilities. Then, in an unholy alliance, this form is melded to a 1957 Chevrolet styled nose. Certainly, the N2A folks did an incredible job morphing from a 1957 to a 1959 Chevrolet in the length of a car. Somehow, for me, the combination just does not work. The styles are too diverse. Bad science experiment. It would be interesting to see how the car would look with purely the 1960 Chevrolet design elements. There are also a few other "future car" renderings to check out on that web site including one tying into 1950 era Buick styling elements and another (unholy) alliance between a 1955 & 1961 Chevrolet. So, in my opinion, these designs look good from either end ... just not in combination. Hence, I give them 1/2 point.
